About ME:
An outdoor enthusiast, I have spent many rewarding years exploring a wide variety of trails across diverse and breathtaking landscapes. Some notable thru- hikes that I’ve done are the Camino de Santiago back in 2004, Appalachian Trail NOBO 2019, Arizona Trail 2020 and the Continental Divide Trail SOBO in 2021. My passion is deeply rooted in discovering the incredible natural beauty that our world has to offer and hope to inspire others to experience the pure joy of hiking and being in the outdoors in a safe and sustainable way. With a strong focus on thoughtful preparation and a deep respect for the environment, I strive to inspire a meaningful and lasting connection to nature through personal insights and thoughtful reflections.
I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, born and raised! I lived in the Southwest, calling Tucson, Arizona, home from 2009 to 2020. I LOVED the desert and all the sacredness of the land! Since 2020, I have been living and loving life in Homer, Alaska. My partner and I bought 2 acres, and we are building an off-grid cabin in an area full of friends and community. I am so grateful.
Other FUN things about me:
I am a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans choreography, costume making, and storytelling. As the leader of the Sea Legs Stilt Troupe in Homer, Alaska. Sea Legs Stilt and Puppet Troupe is a collective of 7 core artists. We are educators, healthcare workers, and mental health professionals united by a shared commitment to creativity, collaboration, and community connection. Our practice is shaped by the rhythms of the seasons and the deep sense of belonging that binds our cosmic hamlet by the sea. From 2011 to 2023, I co-founded and owned Cirque Roots Studio and Productions, a grassroots artist collective based in downtown Tucson, Arizona, fostering a vibrant community for collaborative performance art.
My expertise extends into large-scale music festivals, where I have served as the Performance Art Lead, integrating creative vision with production logistics to enhance the festival experience for attendees.
In addition to my artistic pursuits, I have a 20-year career as a Registered Nurse. I currently work half the year at the local hospital in Homer, Alaska, and spend the rest of the year travel nursing in Alaska or adventuring. I combine my healthcare knowledge with my role as a certified Death Doula, providing compassionate end-of-life support, advocacy, and comfort for patients and their families. Continuously seeking to deepen our understanding of death and dying, and exploring how we as a community can support those who are dying while fostering open, honest conversations about death and related topics.
I am a wild card, an adventurer at heart, always aiming to remain present and humble. I hope you enjoy joining me on my adventures and catching a glimpse of my beautiful, unfiltered life. Living in the moment is timeless—enjoy! Time is not guaranteed.
XOXO
